I'm all in favor of improving roads, but I don't think this is the way to do it. From what I understand, if it passes but some regions vote against it, those regions get their funding reduced, which smacks of blackmail to me-- if it's worth voting for, it shouldn't need crap like that. Also I understand that a number of the items that get funding were chosen for political, not transportation, reasons. If they want us to vote more money for them to spend, then they damn better well be taking our needs into account, not theirs. Just look at the advertising: the 'vote yes' side is buying large billboards facing major expressways, the 'vote no' side has small little signs in their yards.
